Friday, What a mess

I am so ashamed.  What has happened to my country?  I remember how my father was so proud to get his citizenship.  He would cry when he talked about it. This would have just killed him.  Do we realize that the rest of the world is watching?

Of course most of hubs idiot family still think our President is totally innocent and the election was stolen from him.  I might start a war here on this blog.  But we elected a clown and now we have a circus.

I can hardly wait for the swearing in of Joe Biden.  I have always been somewhat conservative but I am so over what has happened at the White House.  I do believe that the loss has unhinged President Trump.  We need so much leadership right now with this virus and all he can do is pout and stew. I am beyond contempt for this man at this time.  I may lose readership, but I don't care.  I have to speak my mind.

I do think that President Trump did some great things while in office, but I cannot support this current behavior.  Shocking, sad beyond words.  I have quite a few readers from over seas.  What are your thoughts?  What is being said in your countries about our political mess?

I was able to get quite a bit of really hard sewing done today.  I still have 4 or 5 more zippers to replace tomorrow and several pairs of pants to hem.

We will have Kelsa tomorrow night.  Our son- in -law has been dispatched to guard the Governor's Mansion in Olympia over the weekend.  Of course daughter is worried and upset.  There has been so much police violence shown on the news in that area.  Please pray for our son in law's safety. Schmills will go and stay with his Aunt BB and daughter and hubby can have a night alone before he leaves.

Trying to eat out of the freezer and pantry.  Cooked up 4 pork chops that were in the freezer along with some home made applesauce, which I thawed.  Then made a large broccoli and raisin salad that should last a few days.  We can have the two other chops today. Might make some fried rice with them that just sounds so good.

Had a long talk with Sissie today who lives outside of DC and she is beside herself. But we did make each other laugh as we always do.  No matter how bad things get we can find something to laugh about. Mostly because we can be so stupid without even trying.  It is a gift!  I hope I am in a better mood tomorrow.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. My opinion of trump is less stellar than yours! I have never called him my president because he isn’t. He’s not fit to be the scum on the bottom of my shoe. After FOUR years, NOW everyone thinks he’s crossed a line?? The whole congress and anyone who worked with him should be fired and/or charged with a crime. Okay, that’s my opinion.
You still work too much BUT i am starting to get my mojo back. So, maybe i could give you a run for your money, sometime in the future. I’m starting a hand sewing project, which i love, along with my journals, cooking and all the regular stuff. Stay safe over there!

  2. You just made the statement that you support the butcher and murder of babies; the destruction of the family unit as God ordained; breaking of God's commandments; denial of religious freedom; denial of freedom of speech; and Marxism. If, as you stated, you support Biden, then you support the agenda that they have been very proud of declaring. Men's personalities are not important, but the platform they run on, their foundational ideology and their intentions, whether evil or good, are extremely important. The Biden/Harris platform is against God's Word and His commandments, yet you have stated that you support that. By stating that you can hardly wait until Biden is in office you have made it clear that you favor Marxism over our Republic. From reading your posts that I have read over the course of a few months, I would not have guessed the truth about your beliefs. I am unfamiliar with the beliefs of your denomination of faith, so this has been enlightening.

      Think again!!

    3. lady, you should have been with Jim Jones in Guyana. This whole Trump cult has been fueled by half baked Christians such as yourself who will not see the truth in front of them. First discredit the press; get away with outrageous lies, cheat and brag about it, demand fealty like a mob boss and then pretend to love the boot licking nitwits that are cramming stadiums to worship you. You think by saying you are god loving and god fearing that people think are a sweet and good person. No, you are a hypocrite. The filthy lies that I have seen against president elect Biden and vice president elect Harris are coming from Christian mouths. You are an ignorant person. You don't know the difference between Marxism, communism or socialism. You don't understand democracy either if you think that the loser of an election can lie his way into a win with force (if it works). The U.S is disgraced by Trump and you lot. Anticipate a new era of decency.

    4. I voted for Trump. I am not in favor of most of the agenda of the Democratic party. I will support my political leaders. Trumps behavior has been abominable over the last few weeks. We need him to lead the country not pout like a child. I do not believe in abortion as a form of birth control, but I do believe in a woman's right to choose.I do worry about having Democrats control the offices because of taxation and what it will bring to our children's future prospects.I believe there are good and bad in both parties. Did I choose Biden? NO. But the behavior I have seen out of Trump makes me anxiuos for all of this to be over. At this point Biden is the better choice. I am sorry.

  3. We need more God in our Country. Are we back to Happy Holidays and no more Merry Christmas? I have friends whose business was destroyed by the riots and they were offered nothing, they were told the rioters were just frustrated. When those same rioters break in to the congress house, suddenly they are all upset. It is time for Nancy Pelosi to go, no peace until she is gone. I love your blog and have been reading it for years. I too don't understand how you can stand on the principles of the Democrat Party. Illegals first, taxpayers last. I can agree/disagree but for you to call your husband and family idiots?? Where is your respect there??

    1. I have never been a fan of Nancy Pelosi and think her time to go was long ago. I am worried about the taxation this new party will bring to our children and future. We do need more God in our schools. I voted for Trump. but his behavior of late is just too bizarre for me. Some or most of Hubs family is very right wing and I just cannot stand by and believe everything they do. I will call a spade a spade.

  5. My Dear Lady, You have every right to share your opinion after all it is your blog. Many trumpsters like to say that you are supporting a baby killer when supporting Biden. They tend to forget that there are a multitude of things a President has to do besides just saying they are pro-life because they gave a speech and said so. Abortion is not the only issue here when voting for the one you believe will cover all the basis when in office. For some reason there are just as many abortions going on in Trump's America as before he was elected in 2016. Him saying he is pro-life does not make it so. He is a habitual liar. Where are the cries against his lying? If we are going to be Biblical then lean on Jesus and believe what he says about lying being an abomination. He says more about lying being an abomination then the shedding of innocent blood. We have many freedoms in the United States that are not forced down our throats. The very thing people are wanting to preserve is their freedoms and that takes supporting the Constitution which Trump calls phony. On the record. Going against the Constitutional MANDATE to count the electoral votes goes against our freedoms. Trumps goons attempted to stop the count. SO, my dear Lady, please continue to blog and speak your mind. We still can share our opinions. If Trump has his way, you will not be allowed to speak your mind because you have to believe 1000% Trump's way or no way. He is into all kinds of name calling and put downs. Patriotism is not about worshipping at the alter of Trump as he wants. That's more like Satan. Being Biblical when I say COME LET US REASON.

    1. Thank you. We all have very different feelings about politics. That baby killer cry is the first I hear from Hubs family. That is insulting and wrong, especially knowing that my last 2 girls were pregnancies that my doctor asked if I wanted to carry them. Even though I had a 50/50 chance of a terrible outcome, in my heart I trusted the Lord. Of course I am pro life, but I also believe in a woman's right to choose.

  6. Thanks Kim and Deanna!
Thankful for all those who speak truth.
I guess all we can do is pray for those misguided Trump supporters who have been brainwashed by Trump. Hopefully their eyes will be opened.

  7. I had my rant as well, and these elected officials that pledged their loyalty to Trump not the constitution make me sick. I'm pissed though that the democrat led house are wasting time on impeachment, when it would be symbolic at this point as it takes longer than the number of days in office, and then just wasted time to move forward. It will hurt the start of the Biden Administration.

    1. I do not think impeachment is the way to go. Let him leave hopefully quietly, and let us start to heal. I will pray and support my leaders.

  8. I don't live in the US and from watching Trump speak I'd say he is not a good leader at all. A good leader unifies his people and takes care of them not create hate and chaos. I don't know much about the political parties in the US but just from seeing Trump speak I'd say you are better off with just about anyone else.

  9. For all of you who think that tRump (not my president!) is against abortion, I'd love to know how many abortions he personally has paid for! And what about those babies that he put in cages? Do their lives not have value? He's a disgusting pig who degrades women and he one hundred percent spurred on those animals at the Capitol on Wednesday. I was a registered Republican for over 40 years (although I hadn't voted for a Republican president in decades), and I ran to my town hall to change my party affiliation as soon as he was elected because I didn't want to have anything to do with him.

    1. I suspect Trump has escorted more than a few women to an abortionist. Suddenly he has become pious and opposed to abortion. Obviously he took on this role to get votes and pacify many of his supporters. I can't believe anyone is naive enough to believe him. I don't really care for Biden either, but almost anyone is better than this man, Trump, who seems to have mental problems.

    2. It is embarrassing for many of us to say we voted for the man. I do not for a second believe that President Trump would not use abortion as a was to get out of a sticky wicket. HE can say he is pro life but that means nothing.

  11. I am one of your northern neighbours and I have never liked Trump. He has cheated on all his wives, talked about women like we are cattle, lied, and not paid his contractors.

I worried that something like this would happen, but prayed it would not.

I do know that we have our own divide here in Canadian polzi itics as well. I just pray that some of my fellow Canadians do not follow the example set by the rioters (not condoning what happened over the summer, but I did hear much of that was from Trump supporters and Neo Nazi types).

    God bless.

    1. I was caught in middle of summer riot unrest by accident and it was a bit terrifying. My son was critical and I was trying desperately to get to hospital. Non Covid almost death medical emergency. I am still traumatized by thinking I almost lost him. Definitely did not look like Trump supporters this summer. However, the riots of the summer do not excuse what happened in Washington this week. Two wrongs do not make a right.

  12. Kim: if you did not support trump you need not feel shame but I understand your sorrow for your country. He has lied and bullied and weaseled his way into the hearts of millions of ignorant and powerless people. They feel power by identifying with him. They are helpless to resist because they want to be bigger than who they are and he gives them that illusion. It is a cult. Abandon reason, trust the boss and be absolutely loyal and you get what? A maga hat? how about health care, decent wages, a cleaner environment. Cooperation with other countries to fight covid and other crises. Cheer up girl, the cavalry is coming on the 20th.

  13. Lots of name calling in these comments by people who are mad at trump for name calling. I would never refer to my husband and his family as idiots. I do believe that most everyone is guilty of a lack of respect for each other in the above statements. Idiots, nitwits, cult, brainwashed, disgusting pig, naive, ignorant and powerless, helpless, cult, words used in the above statements by people who want us to unite, come together, and play nice. No one above is.

We all have our differences, but I still have the right to express mine. I apologize for the slight to Hubs family. My parents came from the old country and were Socialists. Mother never gave that up dad became a democrat.

  15. Hi Kim,

I hesitated before posting because the UK's current political situation is such a mess that it feels as though we have no right to comment on anyone else's affairs. On reflection, though, I thought that I would say a couple of things.

    1) If you look at many formerly stable democracies, their political climates are highly febrile. If just one country was having a troubling moment, it would be tempting to dismiss it as a temporary moment which would have no long term impact. When it's dozens of countries, you have to worry that the world is headed in a very dangerous direction.

    2. I think it's extremely unfair of one of your correspondents to infer things about your spiritual beliefs from a comment you made about Mr Biden. Judging people by the way they vote (especially in countries where politics are fairly moderate) is a deeply dangerous practice and is at least partly responsible for the mess in which we find ourselves.

Anyway, much love to you. I hope and pray that things become much more stable.

  16. I was absolutely appalled at what happened at the capitol building. It was very, very frightening. I really do believe the rioters aimed to kidnap, harm and kill our reps on both side of the aisle. The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of Trump for inciting that. Now he is off Twitter and everyone is up in arms about that. But people, freedom of speech is gift and must be used responsibly, not to cause mayhem, death and anarchy. I did not vote for that man twice and glad I did not. He took this country to the brink, and now, maybe we can be saved. Isabella
