This is my new motto and one that certainly fits my week. I did not do as much as I needed on Monday. I did nothing on Tuesday but run around. Wednesday, I did get busy, but had a lot of loose ends to tie up. Thursday, I melted down and cried off and, on the day.
But by Thursday evening, as Hub's left for work, I decided to set my timer for 15-minute intervals and just get up and do something. I actually felt a little bit of calm overtake me; I am sure due to all you.
In the next three hours, I got sewing done, most items only taking a few minutes to complete. I cleaned, vacuumed, mopped, and did three loads of laundry. I felt much better when hubs got home, and my house was clean, and I had reached status quote in the shop.
However, because I was so lax this week, I am staying open today. Many people need to pick things up and we are leaving next Tuesday. I also have things that need to be done in the shop and I will do them today. It is okay. This is what happens when you have an off three or four days. It is what it is.
Thanks for all the prayers and the well wishes they could really be felt, and they helped.
We have actually eaten down the freezer enough that we were able to get my free butter ball turkey in the freezer! Hooray!
I have many things to do this weekend to get ready to leave on Tuesday. As Signe' was going to drive down with her two kids alone and one is Kelsa, we decided it would be better to fly her one way with the two kids and then Hubs and I will bring her home with us. But this means we will have to take the truck, so we have room for all the bodies coming home. We are taking Roscoe down with us and leaving him with our eldest and her family through the New Year. If we boarded him for that long, it would be well over $1000.
I am going to get my covid booster later today. I hope I don't get sick like I did last time, but I want it before we meet with all the people in southern Idaho and then I also want it for the cruise.
Well, I have two suit coats to alter and a dress blue uniform. I also have some chair covers to alter that should not take too long if I just get in there and do them. It is all about just getting in there and doing them. But then I am the entire problem.
Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.
Kim
Hi Kim, glad that the sinking period ended and you went into a 15 minute burst of enthusiasm….well maybe not enthusiasm ;). You are heading somewhere for thanksgiving, but also doing something in December right? Your life is so action packed I forget. I am jealous you got the Turkey in your freezer. My chest freezer has a small turkey, from last year, I moved to the top to cook next week. But it was puny and I want to buy a big butterball! We shall see if my repacking skills are up to the challenge ;). Have a great weekend. Hilogene in Az
ReplyDeleteAs we will be here for no holiday meals, I have no idea when I will be cooking up the turkey I got.
DeleteYou hang in there, my friend. I am a big fan of the 15-minute interval approach, especially on a day when EVERYTHING seems to be hanging over my head.
ReplyDeleteIt seems to work for my ADHD brain the best.
DeleteYOU are by far NOT a problem!!! You are everyone's answer and Godsend! Bout time you realize that kiddo!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope you check in before you leave, since you will be gone for so long. Wishing a good and productive weekend!
I am hoping I will be able to blog some while I am out and about. I know Sluggy brings her laptop.
DeleteI took a turkey breast out of the bottom of the freezer then a hen, but it all collapsed a bit, so still no room for more turkey breasts! So, you finally got to work on sewing. Good. If it were me, I would shut down Friday night to everyone. Take a nap this weekend so you are rested. When mine were little, like 2 and 4, I just strapped everybody in and struck out. There was unhappiness in the back seat. If you/I tied a kid in a chair in the house for as long as mine had to sit strapped in, You/I would be put in jail! Your dog is having a nice, long holiday!
ReplyDeleteOur grandsons are so excited to have the dog. It was the best Christmas present we could give them. I did get a good nap in with Oliver last evening!
DeleteYou did great Kim. I can't imagine the pain, and you deserved your time to grieve. Your daughter will have help with her boys for the dog. I have a puppy free few nights so I taking meds and going to bed early.
ReplyDeleteWell, the parents are no pets, but we are working on them. Thank goodness Roscoe is so well behaved.
DeleteI hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori, I think we will. I am getting excited.
DeleteI can't imagine how difficult it is for your family, dealing with the one year mark of such a tragedy. Sending you all lots of hugs.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, on setting the timer, getting things done, & just changing it up to feel more productive.
It is a struggle, for all of us. But we are united in love and that helps.
DeleteYou will get things done, small bites at a time.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful time with your family.
God bless.
Thanks Jackie, to you also.
