Saturday, list countdown

Well the church is cleaned and I took the ham out of the freezer to thaw.  I have a girlfriend (an old director) coming over within a 1/2 an hour to help me whip out these 6 circle skirts.  So the list is going down.

I have a decided to make a triple batch of scones for tomorrows choir practice treat.  I will do cranberry, lemon,  and blueberry scones.  I still need to run to the store for unsalted butter and heavy cream.  But at least I know what I am going to make so that eliminates the quandary in my mind.

I still have to really clean the formal front room and the family room, but the front room can be done while I am baking scones and dessert.  Then I need to work on my lesson after I get those things done.

I think I will make it through the weekend.

I want to throw together some pie crusts for the freezer as I have been out for a while.  I also need to get bread making supplies, as in seeds and such so I had better add those things to my grocery list. It looks like it will be a busy Saturday here.  No rest for the wicked.  I am very, very wicked.

Today is .54 cents day as in that is what needs to go into your penny bank, so get to it.

What are you guys doing on this very cold and dreary Saturday? I hope it is something fun.

Have a great and productive day staying positive while you are in the negative.

  1. Laundry, baking brownies, trying a recipe for a pear pie with canned pears to use up the bounty of sliced canned pears my husband bought at $0.39/can. I'm also finishing the quilting of a quilt I pieced a while back for my youngest's new bedroom. I told myself I wasn't leaving the house today, but we do need to drop by the recycling center, which I might plan for around 3p.m. Dinner is a cinch tonight--barbecued chicken breasts, roasted potatoes, home canned applesauce and lima beans, with pie or brownies for dessert, to make up for the lame dinner. The chicken and potatoes will go in the oven at the same time, lima beans only need to be heated with butter, salt and pepper, and the applesauce merely needs to be opened. Oh, add to my list donating A LOT of canning jars. Not sure it will get done today, ut I need to organize them, and get them out before our move.

  4. I am cleaning the kitchen, working on filling donation boxes; (shooting for 500 item total by month end) and waiting for the big storm with 5-12" of snow and blizzard conditions with it. I have crochet projects to enjoy when the work is done!

    1. I was so surprised when I reached well over 500 almost in one room. Mostly videos and dvd's but still it is gone! We are still getting snow also.

  7. Well done, you!
It is about 75 degrees here but this @&*^ rain keeps coming. So, TheHub and I drove around just to look at prospective new houses for our not too distant move to a smaller space. (neighborhoods and not an actual house) After that we went to the grocery store, because I like to dodge raindrops with my arms full of groceries.

    1. I bet the humidity is going up also. So even if it doesn't rain you can still be wet. I love looking a places and then doing nothing. Dreaming is so easy.

  8. Don't hate me... I volunteered at the Clearwater Sea Blues festival for the high school drama booster club. It was beautiful, sunny, breezy and on the intercoastal. A perfect Florida February day!

  10. I have been somewhat lazy. I really should have done some housework, but I did laundry. BUT I got caught up on my Bible study (book of Proverbs) and so forth. After church I will be meal prepping for the week.

  11. Heh. That's how they came my way. My dear LDS friend wanted them out of HER garage, as her DH had bought her new ones when she really got in to canning. I have used these, but I don't think I am going to be doing as much canning in the new place--no fruit trees yet, so I am not moving empty jars.
